Wednesday July 11th

Hi gang,

Short and sweet post today. Tuesday was a quiet day. A day spent catching up on work in the morning, teaching class, doing more catch up on work in the afternoon, and then off to class again. Dinner time was spent at Heather's rented accomodations discussing the trip and the upcoming move, as well as plans for the weekend. It was a simply dinner of soup, salad and Irish soda bread, which was quite good. It was a nice change of pace from sandwhiches. Then back to campus, walking along Woodstock Road, to time how long it would take to get to town from the new dorms. About 15-20 minutes or so, maybe shorter on a bus ride if you time things right, but if you don't it could take 30 minutes to get to town (the bus comes every 20 minutes or so outside of rush hour). Still, it is nice, in a quiet part of North Oxford, and not that long of a trip down to campus if you should need to come back, or down to town for an evening stroll or something else. Lots of students are going to go see Harry Potter tonight or tomorrow, while tomorrow evening is the Oxford Ghost Tour at 7. A busy next few days between classes, so in a short bit its off to buy the first piece of luggage (I only need 1 this week, the second I will buy next week) when the shops open at 10.

I am proud of myself, because of groceries and the refrigerator I got on Monday (finally!) in my dorm room, I managed to spend only 2.50 GBP yesterday, and that was on a beer from the campus pub and a can of soda when my throat was parched. Today will be a tad bit more expensive because of the luggage ::LOL:: but that is seperate from anything else. Next week there will be a fairly large shopping trip, or two, then its eating in residence, cooking myself, for the next three weeks or so.

I'll post some more pictures later on.
