Back from London 7/8

Got back a while ago, around 9:45 or so, but it was a full day. My feet ache...my legs ache...and I admit that I got my small little party lost at one point, but it was in a part of London I am not intimately familiar with. Still, it was a major oops, but they did get to see Westminster Abbey twice. I have tons of pictures to put up, mostly from the Tower of London. I got bored with taking pictures after we left the tower, but we had fun.

Let's see: arrived in London, bought tube tickets and advanced tickets for the Tower. Which was a smart idea since the line was huge. Took the tube to the tower, spent three hours or so wandering about, brief stop for lunch, then walked to the Monument where the Great Fire of 1666 started. Then took the tube to the Museum of London, two hours or so wandering the galleries (though I did pop off to a local game store across the street). Then we walked to the tube, took the Tube to Westminster, and got out to see and briefly walk about: Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Downing Street, the Cenotaph, Horse Guards, the closed Churchill Cabinet War Rooms (it was after 6 at this point), Westminster Abbey, a cashpoint (atm) as a couple of us needed money, a wander through the streets, then back to Westminster Abbey by mistake, then off to the Buckingham Palace. Made it to Victoria Station around 7 where we were to catch up with two girls who went off to ride the London Eye, but they weren't there. (Turns out they beat us back to Oxford!). Got some food from the huge train station, then walked to the bus depot, then rode back to Oxford on the most crowded bus I had ever seen: we even left one bus stop full of people (about a dozen or so) to get the next bus in 20 minutes.

Walked back to the dorms, got some snacks and went down to watch tv until 11:30. Watched the original Batman with Michael Keaton and then decided to call it a night. Now its off to brush teeth and bed time. I will upload pics tomorrow from the weekend and post them here.

Its also laundry time tomorrow. They have been removing asbestos from the laundry room, so I hope they are done tomorrow before all the students get back from Ireland and have to do laundry.
